Ben Affleck's solo Batman movie has been in development for quite some time now. We are getting new details every now and then, but it's just making us crave the movie even more.
Right now we know that the film is titled simply 'The Batman' and will feature Deathstroke as one of the main villains but that's really all we know for now. There are some release dates being thrown around speculating an October 2018 release but Warner Bros. isn't locking down a solid date yet.
However, it sounds as if that news may be coming fairly soon because Jeremy Irons (who plays Alfred) has confirmed the movie is set to begin filming in the summer of 2017. “Similar, but then, of course, Ben’s going to make a Batman film next summer. He promises me there’s going to be a bit more of Alfred in that. In the Justice League we have seven major lead characters and I’m the butler to one of them. It’s clear I will not be dominating that film.”
It sounds like he may have just let it slip on accident but regardless, this would be around the same time Joe Manganiello gave when he said he was "getting ready to go shoot Batman in the spring". It's possible that the movie could start filming around April or May, but that's pure speculation.
Ben Affleck and Irons will appear one more time before The Batman in Justice League which releases on November 17th, 2017.
