Beta for StarCraft 2’s final expansion, Legacy of the Void, rumored for end of March

Stare at the void and…

The entire StarCraft II ride has been quite the vigilant one. While there are many, and I mean many people, awaiting the third and final expansion, Legacy of the Void, there is something bittersweet about it all coming to an end. Will there be a StarCraft III? Well, probably – but that’s hardly the point! This is the Protoss we’re talking about here! Their coming to wrap everything up and put and end (temporarily) to all this war madness.

Let’s not put the cart before the horse. Before any of that goes down, Blizzard needs a beta initiative. While this date hasn’t been confirmed by Blizzard, it’s being rumored that invites will be going out at either the end of this month or early April. Sign ups actually started in November of 2014.

Game outlets were once told that the beta would go down early 2015, which definitely falls into now territory. According to The Dailey Dot, a looming release date came into existence after various gaming organizations received requests for beta invites. One of their sources said:

Blizzard will be aiming for an end of March or early April release. It’s great timing for them. WCS Season 1 will be all but over and this will give players plenty of time to stream the beta and generate some excitement. As things stand the beta is pretty much ready to launch with the balance team just tweaking a few units.

As of now this is all still rumor, but it looks as if it could all be falling into place. Keep in mind that "late March and early April" includes April Fools' Day as a date. Is this a little extreme for a prank? Probably. Then again, Blizzard is known for their April 1st hijinks.
