Beta sign-ups for the next major system update for the PlayStation 4 have opened up. Starting today PS4 owners can sign up for an opportunity to beta test the coming improvements and features heading to the PS4.
The beta is expected to begin in February and is limited to PS4 owners that are 18 years old or older. In addition to being the appropriate age, beta testers will be required to have a PS4 system with an internet connection and SEN account. Once the beta kicks off, the registration will be closed.
Registration for the 5.50 beta will also include the option to automatically participate in future betas without having to register every time. Selecting to automatically participate in future update betas will reward participants with an exclusive PSN avatar.
The features that are coming in system software update 5.50 have not been detailed as of yet, but Sony notes that they will be back “soon” with information. It should be noted that any participants in the beta test can roll the updates back if anything goes wrong.
Sign up for the beta here.
