Bethesda opens office in Sydney, Australia

American game company Bethesda Softworks is opening a new publishing office in Sydney, Australia.

The publisher of The Elder Scrolls role-playing game series seeks to use the new location to help market its new games in Australia and New Zealand. Simon Alty will manage the office. He was previously the managing director at One to Another, a marketing company that assisted with the launch of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim.

Australia is well known for its issues with mature-rated video games, so having an office there may help with release efforts, as should the new guidelines for "adult" games (R18+ rating), which went into effect at the beginning of this year.
