Fallout 76 is getting a lot of new game content throughout this year. Developer & publisher Bethesda shared the exciting news with a roadmap of what’s to come in 2019. It sounds like a lot. New quests, game modes, events and much more.
It has been exactly 100 days since Bethesda’s online-focused spin-off Fallout 76 launched. To call it gone rough would be an understatement. Indeed, the myriad of technical difficulties and curious design decisions led to the game becoming the butt of jokes quickly. A sad thing, as fans of Bethesda’s unique open-world role-playing games have long been yearning for a way to play with their friends.
However, we know the game had a difficult launch, and we’ve made mistakes along the way. We share in your frustrations when we do. We’ll probably make a few more, and when we do, we will work to correct them as quickly as possible. – Bethesda
Bethesda acknowledges that the launch could have gone better and even admits having done mistakes. Nonetheless, the company still feels humbled by the interest of millions of players, and promises lots of new and exciting content to look forward to this year. And going by the roadmap for 2019, fans can indeed expect a lot of great stuff. And best of all, it’s all going to be offered for free for everyone!
The new contents will be delivered in three phases. Wild Appalachia this Spring, Nuclear Winter in Summer and Wastelanders in Fall. Wild Appalachia’s highlights are a new PvP Survival game mode, new quests around mythical beasts & outdoors exploration, the introduction of Brewing & Distilling mechanic and much more. You can check out the whole list of contents here.
Nuclear Winter – ironically slated for Summer – is set to open two new Vaults for players to test their might in and also a new game mode, which will be detailed in the future. The last part in Wastelanders looks to be the most ambitious one featuring a new main questline, factions, events, features and more. No doubt, Bethesda is working hard to turn around Fallout 76 in time for its one year anniversary.
