Staying true to their promised commitment of "meaningful post-launch support" for Halo 5: Guardians, 343 Industries has revealed the first batch of free content for the Xbox One exclusive.
This month, Halo 5 will receive its first drop: Battle of Shadow and Light, which adds the stealthy new Shinobi ninja-themed armor, some legendary Light Rifle firepower, and the arrival of Big Team Battle maps, modes, and mayhem.
Additionally, new REQs will be added with the drop, giving you access to the Ultra Rare Shinobi armor and Legendary Dying Start Light Rifle. There's also the Tundra and Woodland-themed vehicle skins and a new 'Shove It' assassination animation.
Of course, the highlight of the content drop is the arrival of the 8v8 Big Team Battle playlist, which brings four new maps — Deadlock, Basin, Guillotine, and Recurve — to the game's Arena multiplayer. All four maps have been "significantly adjusted" for Halo 5's new mobility, weapons, and features.
