BioShock creator Ken Levine explains how Rapture could’ve looked on Vita

After languishing in 2K and Sony’s queue for some time, the would-be BioShock Vita game has now made its way into Ken Levine’s Twitter feed with the series’ creator himself describing what might have been.

“I was thinking a Final Fantasy Tactics style thing set in pre-fall Rapture,” Levine said on Twitter. He later added that the project was canned because “2K and Sony couldn’t put a deal together when I last checked.

“They seemed way more optimistic about this back in 2011.”

In light of Irrational Games’ closure—charitably called a “winding down”—a tactical game is still a possibility for Levine. If other former Irrational devs can create the time-breaking, narrative-heavy adventure The Black Glove, anything’s possible, right?
