BioShock Infinite documentary explores the mysteries of Columbia

Irrational Games and 2K Games have released a new video for BioShock Infinite. Although it contains no gameplay footage, it offers a unique spin on the history and lore of Columbia, the setting of the new BioShock game.

In a fictional "Truth From Legend" documentary segment, narrator Alistar Bloom attempts to unlock the mysteries of Columbia. The video is more of a trailer for this fictitious show, offering a glimpse at what viewers could expect upon watching.

The video gives a brief overview of the floating city of Columbia and reviews artifacts that may hold the key to unlocking its many histories. Some may answer questions while others raise new and troubling questions like what caused Columbia's secession, where did it disappear to, and where is the rest of the city?

This is one of my favorite trailers yet for BioShock Infinite. One of the things that makes this series so great is its attention to detail and the surrounding lore of the environment in which it takes place in. Although Columbia is a made up city, Irrational has done a great job in bringing it to life. What makes this video so great is its believability — I mean, who hasn't seen one of these cheesy documentaries?
