My prediction for the 2012 Game of the Year got a release date today. In a press release, 2K Games and Irrational Games announced that BioShock Infinite will release in North America for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on October 16, 2012. It will be released internationally three days after that, on October 19.
So far, BioShock Infinite has won more than 75 editorial awards at E3 in 2011. It wins my award for the game that is most likely to ruin my marriage, mostly due to me ignoring my family and making Elizabeth my new family.
BioShock Infinite puts you in the role of Booker DeWitt, a Pinkerton agent. He is teamed with an AI companion, Elizabeth, and the two are trying to escape the politically conflicted sky-city, Columbia. It is a 1912 America that could have been, and the people of Columbia are either isolationalists that hate foreigners, or not. Politics will definitely be at the forefront in this next BioShock game.
All the classic BioShock features, wielding weapons and abilities. New to the series is high-speed Sky-Lines, which introduces aerial combat and a new way to travel.
