Bioshock Infinite Contest Announced, Winner Gets Their Name in the Game

Irrational Games has apparently run out of names for characters and landmarks for their next game. They’re offering one fan the chance to have his/her name immortalized as the “namesake of a building, a character, a business–whatever our artists come up with” in BioShock Infinite.

If you thought “Sinclair Spirits” sounded a lot better as “Stuart Spirits,” then this is the contest for you. Many shared the same sentiment, and when the contest page went live on Friday, it crashed under the influx of entries. The site has been fixed, though, so get your submission in now. All you have to do is enter your email by April 13 at 11:59pm Eastern.

This is the second “get yourself in the game” competition to surface, with Resistance 3’s in-game survivor contest announced last month. Their competition carried a better monetary prize–an all expenses-paid trip to San Diego, California, to tour the Insomniac offices–but I’d rather be named after a building in Columbia or hopefully a super creepy monster.

The third BioShock game will differ from the previous two, as it is not set in an underwater city, but rather a massive flying metropolis called Columbia. It was created by the US to show off their prowess, unlike Rapture’s secret development in the previous two installments. BioShock Infinite will ship some time in 2012 for the PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360.
