BioWare hints at Dragon Age 4 reveal for December 4th

A new Dragon Age might be on the horizon. The news comes after the official BioWare Twitter account posted an ominous message where they are hinting at something interesting for December 4th. The annual date where fans celebrate the fantasy RPG. It sure looks like a Dragon Age 4 announcement is very close.

Last year, BioWare unveiled a teaser trailer for a new installment in their popular high-fantasy RPG franchise Dragon Age. It happened during The Game Awards and created lots of excitement, but it became quickly clear that it would take several years until a final release. With this year’s TGA ceremony just around the corner, BioWare is once again teasing Dragon Age 4. Fans of the series have decided upon December 4th to celebrate the RPG series but this year, the developer has decided to join in on the celebration. This naturally stirs up speculations that they will formally announce a sequel. If we had to bet, we’d put our money on BioWare once again using the stage at The Game Awards, even if that takes place nine days after 12/4.

If indeed Dragon Age 4 gets unveiled and showed with more than just a vague teaser trailer consisting of artwork, we hardly believe fans will be disappointed. After all, it has been five long years since Dragon Age: Inquisition came out at the start of this console generation. Inquisition became a huge hit among both gamers and critics for their signature deep lore, gameplay and RPG mechanics. But it also elevated the franchise by offering some of the best visual fidelity this gen.

With other BioWare juggernaut games massively disappointing this generation, like Mass Effect Andromeda and Anthem, Dragon Age 4 could very well become the make-it-or-brake-it project for the esteemed RPG developer who has truly lost its appeal. Or will it be the nail in the coffin for one of the most-beloved RPG devs of yesteryear? Stay tuned for next month to find out.
