Major Nelson released the Xbox LIVE activity for the week of December 31st yesterday. These lists are based on global unique users (UU) connected to Xbox LIVE or for Arcade and Indie games, full versions purchased during the week.
The Xbox 360 top LIVE titles are led by the usual suspects — Black Ops 2, Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, Halo 4, FIFA Soccer 13 and Modern Warfare 3. Week after week since its launch, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has been in the number one spot on this list. The rest of the top 10 is rounded out by NBA 2K13, Skyrim, Black Ops, Assassin's Creed III and Madden NFL 13. The newer release of Far Cry 3 just barely missed the top ten, coming in 11th on the list.
The top arcade titles, which are determined by full versions purchased during the week, was led by Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition in the one spot, and that doesn't look like it's going to change any time soon. Following Minecraft is Trials Evolution, The Walking Dead, Castle Crashers, Trials HD, Retro City Rampage, Guardians of Middle-earth, Fruit Ninja Kinect, Sonic Adventure 2 and Pinball FX2.
The top Indie games are are full of miners… seriously. The top five games are CastleMiner Z, Murder Miners, Xenominer, CasterMiner, and Avatar Laser Wars 2. One of those things are not like the others.
