Back in February an official release date for the Blade Runner sequel was announced to be January 12, 2018. According to new reports the sequel will be releasing a couple months earlier than originally planned.
Pre-production for the film that is set to begin filming in July has been so efficient that Alcon Entertainment has decided to move the release date from January to October 6th, 2017, according to Variety.
Harrison Ford is set to reprise his role as Rick Deckard with Ryan Gosling set to star alongside him.
Ridley Scott, the director behind the original film, is on board to act as executive producer on the project, with “Sicario” director Denis Villeneuve leading the sequel. Hampton Fancher — co-writer of the original film — and Michael Green have written the original screenplay based on an idea by Fancher and Scott.
