Since the announcement of Diablo 3 many have wondered if it would be ported to consoles. We've heard rumors and seen job postings all hinting at a console project, but we've never really been sure. Well, for the first time we have confirmation from a Blizzard employee that Diablo will make its way to consoles .
With a simple tweet, Community Manager Micah Whipple (or Bashiok) revealed that Blizzard is working on bringing Diablo 3 to consoles. When asked to confirm or deny Diablo 3 console rumors, Whipple responded:
"Yup. Josh Mosqueira is lead designer for the Diablo console project."
While he didn't reveal what consoles or when the game would be available, we can assume it would be for Xbox 360 or PS3. Back in December we noticed a new job posting on Gamasutra that hinted of the possibility of Diablo 3 for PS3 or Xbox 360. Blizzard was hiring for a software engineer with experience on the two consoles. You can see the job listing here.
Diablo 3 still has no release date for PC, after rumors of a February 1st launch date were shot down.
