Last week, Blizzard sent out 100,000 invites to North American gamers for the Diablo 3 beta. While good news for people like me who finally got the highly coveted invite, many eager Diablo 3 fans overseas were disappointed with Blizzard's decision to only include North America in the most recent wave.
As expected, Blizzard wasn't playing favorites with the most recent round of invites. According to an update from Blizzard community manager Nakatoir, they are still "heavily interested in server performance".
"Inviting local, low-latency testers is important to achieve the results we need," Nakatoir told European forum users. "While we absolutely want to continue to bring in players from around the globe, our intent is always going to be to do what best serves our testing requirements."
Nakatoir didn't completely rule out additional European beta invites. In fact, he encouraged fans to continue to keep a look out for further Diablo 3 awesomeness in the coming weeks.
Nakatoir added: "While there may not be any beta invites in this wave for the EU, we will have more information in the following weeks about the global giveaways as well as for regional betas for you. Keep your eyes on the Diablo III front page and forums for this upcoming awesomeness!"
As for us, with our brand new beta invite will be testing out each class and giving you our impressions. Be sure to check back later today for our impressions of the Demon Hunter.
