Following the discovery of "some pesky sprites" in today's Hearthstone maintenance, Blizzard has decided to delay the game's Beta Test Season 2.
"During today’s Hearthstone closed beta maintenance (Thursday, January 2nd), we’ve discovered some pesky sprites that are currently preventing us from properly transitioning from Test Season 1 to Test Season 2," Blizzard wrote in a blog post. "Due to these issues, we are extending the duration of Test Season 1 until we can ensure a smooth transition."
Player ranks will remain unchanged for the time being and Test Season 1 will continue "until further notice." It's unclear if the delay for Test Season 2 will have any affect on the Hearthstone open beta which is planned to begin this month. Bugs aside, we think we found the biggest non-technical problem with the game: a limited card pool.
