Blizzard joins copyright infringement three way with Lilith Games and uCool

Blizzard has announced that it will be suing Lilith Games, the developers that created the mobile game Soul Clash (known in Taiwan as DOTA Legend). The announcement came from Blizzard's Taiwanese site and claims that the legal action is based off of Soul Clash infringing on "World of Warcraft copyright and trademark."

While Blizzard sues Lilith Games, Lilith is suing uCool on the same grounds of copyright infringement. Lilith claims that uCool's game Heroes Charge "is so identical to Soul Clash in the rules, the character set, and even the user interface that we assume it could have been created by decompiling the source code of our original game." A hefty claim.

What is Blizzard saying? Well, the game art really speaks for itself. The in-game sprites and game art shows of various Warcraft characters. In the example used in this article you can see a Tauren, Goblin (on a rocket of all things) and Sylvanas Windrunner. It's interesting to see a game (Soul Clash/Lilith Games) that ripped off another game (Warcraft/Blizzard) suing someone (uCool) for ripping off their game.

It's like a spiraling pit of ripoffs and dispair.
