A classic is making a return. After long being rumored, Blizzard officially announced today that they are working on a remaster of the original StarCraft, which will be simply titled, StarCraft: Remastered. The game will come with cleaner visuals, revised dialog, and modern online matchmaking. StarCraft: Remastered will still retain the same great gameplay that made the original such a timeless classic and players will still be able to play via local LAN, just like the olden days.
LAN parties FTW.
Mike Morhaime, CEO, and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment said:
"StarCraft is a pure distillation of Blizzard’s DNA—its story, its balance, and all the little details reflect our long-running commitment to epic entertainment, and it’s been a staple in competitive gaming and esports for almost 20 years.
With StarCraft: Remastered, we’re modernizing the original game’s visuals, audio, and online support to ensure that players can enjoy StarCraft for another 20 years and beyond."
