Blizzard releases new Overwatch gameplay video for Widowmaker

Blizzard has just posted a new gameplay video of their upcoming multiplayer shooter, Overwatch, taken from the perspective of the Widowmaker class.  The Widowmaker is a mobile and deceptive Sniper Class with a grappling hook that allows for quick vertical movement, allowing the player to gain a quick tactical edge in battle and can lay down mines to catch careless opponents by surprise.  The video was captured in full 1080p, 60 fps on PC and depicts a Point Capture/Defense match with an impressive set of killstreaks, particularly against whoever was playing as Pharah.

Overwatch is Blizzard's first foray into the competitive shooter arena and was unveiled last November at BlizzCon.  The game takes obvious inspiration from other competitive shooters like Team Fortress 2, but still retains its own flair with unique characters and classes that reflects Blizzard's unique branding style.

Still no word yet on a release date, but you can get in on the action early by signing up for the beta here.
