Blizzard removing Death Knight level 55 requirement in World of Warcraft

Dat level 90 boost, baby.

Do you remember the time when you had to level characters in World of Warcraft? How about that one time, in Wrath of the Lich King, when you needed a character at level 55 in order to make a Death Knight?

Those times are gone, well, for the most part. You will still need to level your characters, but if you purchase Warlords of Draenor you get a free level 90 character boost (but you may already know this).

The character boost pretty much kills any relevence that the level 55 requirement for Death Knights had, because of this Blizzard is removing the previously imposed limitation. The news comes to us in the form of a blue post on the World of Warcraft forums:

With availability of the level 90 character boost, we feel the requirement to have a character level 55 or higher to unlock the Death Knight as a playable class is no longer relevant. The plan right now is to remove the limitation sometime next week, at which point players will be able to start a new Death Knight (which still begins at level 55) without first having to reach level 55 on another character.
