In early April, Hearthstone expanded its deck with a new Adventure called Blackrock Mountain. The adventure brought 31 new cards to the game along with a bunch of other features. Before this Adventure, we saw the Goblins vs Gnomes expansion bring over 120 cards to the game.
Long story short, there are a lot of cards in Hearthstone (as there should be, it is a deck building game afterall), but it's not the only way Blizzard looks to support the popular game — even adding cards can get boring.
Speaking with GamesMaster magazine, Hearthsone Director Eric Dodds confirmed what any other game developer would want: "I want Hearthstone to be played over a long period of time – certainly over many years." Just how Blizzard would achieve that has yet to be discovered, "There are a lot of questions that we’re talking about internally that need to be answered," Dodd explained. "One of those issues does surround the adding of new cards, because we know we can’t just keep adding cards forever. It’s important to figure out solutions to that kind of thing."
