It might feel like BlizzCon 2014 wasn't too long ago, but Blizzard already has their sights set on this year's event. Blizzard fans will once again congregate at the Anaheim Convention Center for a weekend of gaming festivities! This year in particular will be interesting, though.
There are tons of games currently in development at Blizzard including the final StarCraft 2 expansion, Overwatch, Heroes of the Storm, and another Hearthstone adventure. Unfortunately, we will have to wait until Friday, November 6th and Saturday, November 7th to see what Blizzard has planned this year.
Blizzard has detailed what is to be expected from the event in a similar bullet point style (and possibly nearly the exact same wording) as the 2014 BlizzCon announcement:
- Hands-on play time with the latest versions of Blizzard Entertainment games
- Global Finals for Blizzard eSports, including the StarCraft II World Championship Series and Hearthstone World Championship
- In-depth discussion panels with Blizzard game developers and artists
- Community contests with great prizes
- Commemorative merchandise based on Blizzard’s game universes
- More activities and attractions to be announced
There's only one bullet point missing from the previous year's announcement, the point that details competitive and casual game tournaments. Whether or not the casual tournaments will be at the event have yet to be detailed.
Tickets will cost $199 each and will be available from Eventbrite.
The first batch of tickets for BlizzCon go on sale at 7 p.m. PST on Wednesday, April 15, and the second batch will be available at 10 a.m. PST on Saturday, April 18.
