BlizzCon 2016: Blizzard announces new Hearthstone expansion, Mean Streets of Gadgetzan

Crime pays, and so will you if you want all of the cards immediately

BlizzCon 2016: Blizzard announces new Hearthstone expansion, Mean Streets of Gadgetzan

While Overwatch has been stealing most of the headlines for BlizzCon 2016, Blizzard has not forgotten about fans of their popular free-to-play card game, Hearthstone. Mean Streets of Gadgetzan will take players to the seedy underbelly of Azeroth (at least as seedy as Azeroth can be) where your new friends will include smugglers, assassins, and outcast magic users. But, being created by Blizzard, these characters are still kind of adorable in that fantasy cartoon kind of way.

In Mean Streets of Gadgetzan, players will befriend one of three crime families: the weapon-smuggling Grimy Goons, the assassins of the Jade Lotus, and the mana-hungry Kabal. Each family will reward you with all-new cards with 132 total new cards being brought to the expansion. On top of that, each family comes with its own select set of three Hearthstone classes, which offers tons of flexibility and exploration for players.

As usual, you don't have to pay anything to access the cards, but you will have to earn them via the game's Arena mode if you choose to go this route. Otherwise, if you want to unlock everything right away, you can pre-purchase a Mean Streets of Gadgetzan 50-pack bundle for a one-time fee of $49.99.

There is currently no release date set for Mean Streets of Gadgetzan, but if you want to know more, you can head over the expansion's official page.
