Blogger taking awesome Samus art, turning it into an art book

Fan art is cool. If I had to be quite honest, though, I prefer fan art that's unique and has its own sense of style as opposed to amazingly accurate depictions of characters such as Master Chief and Bowser. I mean, that's stuff's cool, but there's something to be said about fan art that's distinct and has some personality.

A perfect example of charming fan art is 31 Days of Zero Suit Samus. Over the summer, artist and blogger Chris Furniss posted some neat drawings of Metroid's star heroine Samus Aran enjoying her time off and doing normal things rather than risking her ass and saving planets. It's really cool stuff worth checking out if you haven't already.

And before you ask, no, this is not some sexy artwork of Samus in her Zero Suit. Yes, she's sporting the outfit, but the drawings are lighthearted and cheery. Hey, I love me some sexy Samus, too, but I also have an appreciation for more innocent artwork.

Furniss now has plans of turning his series into a book. He'll include all of the pieces from his 31 Days of Zero Suit Samus, as well as some unreleased drawings, which is pretty cool. Additionally, the book will feature work from other artists.

If you're a fan of Metroid and awesome art, you should definitely watch out for this book. I know I will.
