Bloodborne comes to PC in form of Zelda-inspired tribute Yarntown

Take this Blood Vial! It's dangerous to go alone.

A talented indie developer by the name of Max Mraz has created a fun little tribute for Bloodborne. Titled Yarntown, this demake is rather a retro Zelda clone that features the aesthetics of the brutal PS4 exclusive.

Bloodborne may or may not come to the PC sometime in the near future. Industry insiders have been heavily hinting and outright claiming that the iconic PS4 title is coming but with no concrete details by either the developer FromSoftware or Sony who published the game we have to take those claims with a grain of salt.

But that doesn’t mean that the thirst among the PC community has waned in the slightest. How could it not? Every single Souls game is available on the platform and Bloodborne is the odd man out. It sure doesn’t help that the PS4 exclusive is widely regarded as one of if not the best by FromSoftware.

Welcome to Yarntown, a Zeldalike tribute to Bloodborne. Explore the streets of a cursed, gothic town, hunting beasts and uncovering twisted bosses.

Nonetheless, with Yarntown there is at least reason to be soothed until – hopefully – a PC port is announced. And this little fan game is anything but a throwaway mod too. The creator of it is a proper game dev who just earlier this year announced the retro-inspired Oceansheart. A beautiful pixel art action-adventure title that’s clearly taking inspiration by the SNES-era Zelda games.

Yarntown itself looks like a modification of Oceansheart. That probably explains how the fan game ended up being so good. You can download Yarntown for free via the popular indie game repository itch.io here.
