Bloodlines 2 likely won’t be out before second half of 2021

"But we will see"

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is still a long time off. Publisher Paradox stated as much in a recent interview. According to the company, fans should expect the RPG during the second half of 2021. At the earliest.

The news is neither promising nor reassuring about Bloodlines 2’s development. The long-awaited sequel to the cult PC RPG of the 2000s experienced quite a tumultuous development period.

Publisher Paradox Interactive originally wanted to release Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 this year. That didn’t happen obviously. A second delay followed this summer. This time, to an undisclosed date in 2021.

The recent remarks by Paradox Interactive CEO Ebba Ljungerud now give us a rough idea of when to expect Bloodlines 2. In an interview with Swedish financial portal Placera, Ljungerud stated that he doesn’t expect it in the first half of 2021.

Enter the World of Darkness and rise through vampire society. Experience Seattle – a city full of alluring, dangerous characters and factions. In this sequel to the cult classic, your choices, plots and schemes will change the balance of power.

Quite the blow for fans of the game who waited so long already. To be fair, things can still change. It’s just the expectation of the company. Still, it’s a solid indication of the development of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. As such, it looks like developer Hardsuit Labs has a lot of work ahead of itself.

Besides two major delays, Bloodlines 2 also lost a lot of proverbial creative blood. Paradox terminated both the lead writer and creative director from the project earlier this year. Certainly not a good sign that development went well.

As if that wasn’t enough, a F2P battle royale spin-off was also revealed just last month, which led to many befuddled fans. The franchise was never known for its combat or multiplayer prowess after all. But time will tell how that turns out.
