Today Take-Two Interactive revealed updated sales numbers for Max Payne 3 and Borderlands 2, two of last year's releases. The latter has done particularly well for the company, whose subsidiary 2K Games published the title.
The company's other subsidiary, Rockstar Games, made and published Max Payne 3, which has sold 4 million copies since its debut in March 2012. But Borderlands 2 has surpassed that with 6 million since September of last year, said Take-Two chief executive officer Strauss Zelnick during a financial call.
"Borderlands 2 remains on track to become the highest-selling release in the history of 2K," he said.
That doesn't mean Rockstar has been left behind. It holds its own record with the Grand Theft Auto franchise, which returns with GTA 5 on September 17. As of last year, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas topped the series charts with 27.5 million copies sold worldwide.
