Borderlands 2 patch coming ‘as soon as possible’ to address Xbox 360 hacking

Gearbox has submitted a Borderlands 2 patch to Microsoft to combat hackers on Xbox 360. According to a post on the Gearbox forums, the company was recently notified of a few users who have "begun violating the Xbox Live Code of Conduct by using an external application to maliciously disrupt the experience and sabotage characters of legitimate Borderlands 2 players on Xbox 360."

The patch, which has already been submitted to Microsoft, will be released "as soon as possible."

In the meantime, Gearbox suggests playing online only with "trusted individuals in non-public sessions." They also advise that you always select "Save and Quit" from within the pause menu while your character is alive before ceasing play. If after death you find yourself at the main menu of Borderlands 2 instead of respawning in-game, they recommend you immediately select "Continue" to resume playing as that character.

If you notice any suspicious behavior in Borderlands 2 Gearbox asks that you report them and provide as much details and documentation of your disrupted experience as possible.
