As Gearbox, well, gears up to drop the highly anticipated, third downloadable expansion pack for their 2012 blockbuster, Borderlands 2, part of their development team is hard at work to fix an error that’s plaguing many Xbox 360 users.
According to the developer, many Xbox 360 players are experiencing a “Compatibility Pack” download error that’s preventing users from joining online matches. These Compatibility Packs are not foreign to players, as they’re usually dished out prior to DLC releases, but as you can imagine some players are worried they won’t be able to download the “Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt” expansion when it becomes available.
To reassure fans, Gearbox tweeted that they’re hard at work on a fix and will notify users when all is well to re-download the Compatibility Pack:
Aiming to have the Compatibility Pack download error some are experiencing on Xbox 360 fixed within the next few hours. More as we have it.
It should be noted that this tweet was published around 5 p.m. CST today, and the developer has followed up stating they’re still working on a fix, and their popular “Gear Up” event will be delayed until the issue is resolved.
We'll be extending today's Gear Up event due to the Compatibility Pack issues on Xbox 360 — we'll share details once that's resolved.
With “Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt” just over the horizon, we expect that Gearbox will have a fix either tonight, or early tomorrow, so keep your eyes peeled here for updates and an officially DLC release announcement.
