Borderlands headed to Xbox One via backwards compatibility

Released in 2009, Borderlands took the first-person shooter genre and turned it on its heads. Since then, we have seen two sequels, a spin-off series, and a boat-load of quality DLC. Now Xbox One plans on giving well-deserved praise to the original game with Backward Compatibility.

Launching in November, Xbox One’s Backward Compatibility will feature a number of games which now includes Borderlands. If previously owned, old Borderlands saves, DLC and achievements can be carried over to the Xbox One.

“We are proud to support Xbox One Backward Compatibility by bringing the complete, original Borderlands to Xbox One, including all downloadable content,” said 2K President Christoph Hartmann. “We know many of our fans have put in dozens, even hundreds, of hours exploring the world of Pandora on their Xbox 360, and now they can continue their adventures on Xbox One.”

Borderlands was Game of the Year for many outlets in 2009 and continues in both legend and sequels as a very strong series. It is a welcome addition to Backwards Compatibility for sure.

So far, the list of Xbox 360 games available at Backward Compatibility launch in November is over 100 with more to come.
