Both Sonic Boom titles get an official release date

Sonic's new adventure, complete with a whole new look, will get two separate games on the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric for the Wii U and Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal for the 3DS will be releasing simultaneously on November 11th.

The two games will have their own separate story and gameplay elements. While the Wii U version will focus on 3D action platforming, the 3DS version will be more akin to old Sonic 2D platformers.

These two games are actually a part of the Sonic Boom Initiative, which is a Sonic experience that ties in the two video games, as well as the Sonic Boom animated series that's coming to Cartoon Network this fall.
