Brad Pitt to star in ‘20,000 Leagues Under the Sea’ remake?

David Fincher — director of The Social Network, Se7en, Fight Club and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button — has worked with Brad Pitt on multiple movies. So it would make sense that he's trying to get Brad Pitt to be in a new version of 20,000 League Under the Sea for Disney. Fincher is trying to get Pitt to play Ned Land, a sailor talented with a harpoon, who was previously portrayed by Kirk Douglas in the 1954 adaptation.

Don't expect this to be a sure thing, though, as Disney hasn't kicked off pre-production. As much as Fincher might like to reunite with Pitt for this project, he's still considering other projects — like The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest. Still, it'd be cool to see Pitt as Land alongside whoever starred as Nemo. Clooney maybe? I love those two together.
