FOR
IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BradyGames
to give fans a special look inside The Making of FINAL FANTASY™: THE SPIRITS
WITHIN

Movie
book and FINAL FANTASY CHRONICLES™ Official Strategy Guide extend BradyGames’
strong partnership with Square

INDIANAPOLIS
– May 17, 2001 – In July, the partnership between BradyGames and Square is
going Hollywood.

That’s
when BradyGames, the leading publisher of premium strategy guides, will
release The Making of FINAL FANTASY: THE SPIRITS WITHIN. It’s an insider’s
look at the creation of this visually-stunning animated movie, which features
the vocal talents of Alec Baldwin, James Woods, Donald Sutherland, Steve
Buscemi, Ming-na, Ving Rhames and Peri Gilpin. A Square Pictures production,
the movie is being released by Columbia Pictures on July 11,2001.

The
movie is set on Earth in the year 2065, in a world ravaged by an alien
invasion. It follows Dr. Aki Ross, a beautiful scientist, as she moves through
both real and fantasy worlds in search of answers that could save the planet
from the alien threat.

The
Making of FINAL FANTASY: THE SPIRITS WITHIN will include storyboards, the
movie script, concept sketches, and images of the characters, sets and props
from the movie. It will also include behind-the-scenes information and
interviews with the creative minds behind this ground-breaking production.
This book will bring to light the truly staggering level of work and detail
involved in the movie’s development.

The
book is the latest evidence of the strong partnership between BradyGames and
Square, makers of the popular FINAL FANTASY® videogame series. All told,
BradyGames has more than 2.5 million strategy guides for the FINAL FANTASY
series in print.

Last
fall, BradyGames continued its support with the release of the FINAL FANTASY
IX Official Strategy Guide. And earlier this year, BradyGames passed a
milestone with the sale of the millionth copy of the FINAL FANTASY VII
Official Strategy Guide, the industry’s first console guide to go platinum.

The
partnership continues in July, when BradyGames publishes the FINAL FANTASY
CHRONICLES™Official Strategy Guide. It’s a single guide that covers two
games, FINAL FANTASY® IV & CHRONO TRIGGER®. The games, for use on the
PlayStation® game console, are updated versions of titles originally created
for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES).

Regarded
by many as the best and most popular SNES games ever released, both games have
now been updated to include cinemas, but they retain the classic look and feel
in game play. In CHRONO TRIGGER, veteran players recall traveling through eras
and time to stop Lavos, one of the main enemies, from draining the planet’s
energy. In FINAL FANTASY IV, players choose from 12 playable characters to
fight bad guys and search for rare crystal weapons and armaments.

The
FINAL FANTASY CHRONICLES Official Strategy Guide will contain complete
walkthroughs for both FINAL FANTASY IV and CHRONO TRIGGER, including area
maps, bestiaries, and boss strategies. Coverage of CHRONO TRIGGER includes
technology and magic lists along with secrets and tips to access every ending.
In FINAL FANTASY IV coverage, character classes, bestiaries and locations of
key items are provided.

Last
year BradyGames extended its coverage of FINAL FANTASY beyond strategy guides.
The Art of FINAL FANTASY IX was an inside look at the stunning art from FINAL
FANTASY IX, including rarely seen concept art, an immense collection of
character art, and full-page scenes from the most beautiful cinemas in video
game history. The book’s entertaining and informative commentary on the
series history, as well as anecdotal captions relevant to stories and events
of FINAL FANTASY IX, made this book a favorite of many FINAL FANTASY fans.
