Brie Larson is in talks for the role of Captain Marvel

As we enter into Phase 3 of Marvel’s cinematic universe, there’s one key role that’s been left unfilled. Carol Danvers, A.K.A Captain Marvel, will be making her big screen debut on March 8th 2019. It's possible that it could happen earlier if she gets a cameo in another MCU movie, but many have wondered exactly who’s face we’ll see on the screen.

Variety reports that the front runner as of right now is Brie Larson, a recent Academy Award winner and an all-around talented actress. This would make perfect sense, as Larson has both critical and commercial appeal, but is not a huge star, meaning she won’t cost as much as say Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow.

Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige recently stated that we’d hear more about Captain Marvel, including cast and a director sometime in the summer. So if Brie Larson is indeed their top choice we won’t have to wait long to hear an official announcement.
