Bring the scare to Team Fortress 2 by designing Halloween-themed cosmetic items

With Halloween just 49 days away Valve is turning to fans to design some spooky getup for Team Fortress 2. From now until October 1st, Valve wants your help in creating Halloween-themed cosmetic items for the popular, free-to-play shooter.

"Scariness doesn't just happen, people. It's serious business," Valve wrote on the Team Fortress 2 blog. "That's why we're giving you until October 1st to fill the Steam Workshop with horrifying Halloween-themed cosmetic items."

Don't worry if you aren't the creative type; you can still have fun with Halloween and Team Fortress 2. If I've learned anything from being a video game journalist its this: those who can't do, can critique the work of others. And you can do just that with this event; you can visit the workshop and rate other people's Halloween-themed items.

Valve said they will soon be releasing this year's "Scream Fortress" update.
