Bryan Cranston has officially been cast as Zordon in the upcoming Power Rangers reboot.
After months of rumors, the cast for the newest incarnation of the Power Rangers is starting to round out. It was recently announced that 'Hunger Games' star, Elizabeth Banks, has entered the project as the cackling witch, Rita Repulsa. Now, it seems she will be joined by none other than Heisenberg himself, Bryan Cranston, as the Rangers' disembodied mentor, Zordon of Eltar.
Cranston is best known for his role as Walter White on AMC's Breaking Bad and as the fun-loving, neurotic Hal from FOX's Malcolm in the Middle. With his popularity on the rise, word got out that early in his career, Cranston had done some occasional voiceover work, some of which included the voices of monsters Twinman and Snizard on the original Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers series. His work on the show even inspired the producers to name the Blue Ranger after him, Billy Cranston.
In the most stunning display of fan service committed yet, Bryan Cranston has returned to the Power Rangers lore to portray their alien mentor, Zordon. A character without physical form, Cranston will likely just return to voiceover work for the role, but there's still no word on how Zordon will be presented in the movie.
Power Rangers releases March 17, 2017!
