Bulletstorm “is definitely, probably” going to get a sequel

The Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition is set for release later this week, the remaster of a sadly overlooked game, and alongside it, besides more Duke Nukem, some hope from Gearbox of a sequel to this beloved, but ignored, game.

Bulletstorm got great scores when it came out, though only a 7 from us, and most of those who played it enjoyed it a lot. Despite the positive reception, this game by People Can Fly didn't do very well and entered some sort of hibernation, that was until the remaster was announced.

With the April 7 release of Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition being just two days away Dualshockers published an interview with Meredith Hershey and Vincent Slaven of Gearbox. The possibility of a Bulletstorm 2 actually came up when they were asked whether or not the presence of Duke Nukem was a way of gauging the interest in a new Duke Nukem game. That was not the case, and Slaven said that it was a little something to give to the fans and that "Duke and Bulletstorm kind of have a similar sense of over-the-top adventure and the same type of humor and stuff." Slaven then continued and said that Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition is a way to see if people would be interested in a sequel.

"This Full Clip Edition is more or less a way to do that—because People Can Fly own the rights to the franchise fully—and they want to do more with it. And so they are kind of like—because game development is so expensive—they want to put this out to see like, 'Do people still want Bulletstorm? Is there like a different climate now that would be more receptive?' And if it is, there is definitely, probably gonna be an option for a Bulletstorm 2 following this. Duke Nukem 2, no, but Bulletstorm 2, I think: maybe."

There it is, our hope for a Bulletstorm 2 filled with the same kind of lighthearted action where you for once aren't saving the world from the apocalypse in an overly serious fashion.

If you also want a Bulletstorm 2 then the best way to tell that to People Can Fly is to buy the Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition, which releases this Friday, April 7, for $43/£26/€39 on Steam. How can you not want the Full Clip Edition with an ad like the one up above?
