Bungie announces final live event Destiny ‘Age of Triumph; Talks what will transfer to Destiny 2 and what will not

Yesterday, Bungie teased that they would be revealing "waypoints on the road ahead." The developer only offered two details for the future, "fresh challenges for you to tackle" and "sandbox changes." Now, this didn't sound like the developer would be revealing the sequel to Destiny, allegedly named Destiny 2: Forge of Hope.

Earlier this year, a Mega Bloks set detailed some events in Destiny that hadn't occurred yet. The set showed off Cabal taking part in an event, as well as some new vehicles.

Well, Bungie officially revealed their announcements for today and it turns out that the developers have revealed the final live event for Destiny 1 and what will transfer to Destiny 2, as well as what will not.

Starting with the final live event…

Next  Wednesday, March 8th, Bungie will be revealing the final live event for Destiny. It is called 'Age of Triumph' and will close out the "first major chapter" of Destiny. No further details were offered on the event, however, Bungie did say that they will "We’ll look back upon the three incredible years we’ve shared as a community, and look ahead to some final challenges and rewards that await you in the weeks ahead."

Age of Triumph will be releasing March 22nd.

Now for Destiny 2…

Bungie has killed the rumors of Guardians not transferring to Destiny 2 in their announcement. Destiny Guardians will be transferring to Destiny 2 if they have achieved level 20 and completed the 'Black Garden' story mission. Additionally, all customization details will be transferring.

"We know that, just like us, you have grown fond of the Guardians you’ve created, so we do plan to preserve your character personalization. We are going to recognize the dedication and passion you’ve shown for this world. Specifically, the class, race, gender, face, hair, and marking selections for all characters that have achieved Level 20 and completed the Black Garden story mission will carry forward. We also plan to award those veteran accounts with honors that reflect your Destiny 1 accomplishments. "

Unfortunately, there are things that will not be making their way to Destiny 2. The features that will not move forward were picked because they will not work towards Destiny 2 or the players' best interest.

Here's what will not transfer to Destiny 2: power, possessions, and Eververse-related items and currency.
