After a week of speculation and rumors regarding Destiny's second expansion, House of Wolves, Bungie has once and for all set the record straight. Destiny Expansion II: The House of Wolves — as it's officially called — will be released "sometime in the second quarter of this year." That's sometime in April, May, or June, for those who aren't quite familiar with how quarters work. It's interested because this week's leak claimed that the DLC will be released on May 19th, which fits into that window.
Earlier this week, a Redditor by the name megamanexe4 claimed to have access to the House of Wolves content. He released a series of screenshots that implied Vendor gear will once again render Raid gear obsolete. The images also revealed that weekly activities such as Nightfalls will increase from level 30 to 32. One of the supposed leaked images shows a level 32 Thrall.
In response to this, Destiny community manager David 'DeeJ' Dague assured that nothing in the DLC is final. This week's Bungie update pretty much reiterated Dague's comments.
"We’re keeping all other details under wraps for now," Bungie said in this week's update. "There is a special team here that's dedicated to creating some new ways for you to play Destiny. They’re also making the game you know a better reflection of what we’ve learned about you since you’ve started playing. While they do their thing, we'll walk the fine line between making you a part of the process and providing them with a safe place to explore possibilities and do their best work."
Unfortunately, that's about all Bungie shared regarding the upcoming DLC, meaning the speculation will likely continue.
