Bungie is not planning on having any PS4 Pro support for Destiny, at least for now

A lot has been made about the PS4 Pro since it was officially unveiled a week ago today. Now the focus is slowly becoming a question of which games will include support, and which won't. The hope would be that all of them should have support. But that doesn't appear to be the reality (which isn't surprising). While we know what games will be having support at launch, one that we can officially cross out is Destiny.

In a roundtable interview, developers at Bungie came right out and said that development for Rise of Iron is finished at this time. Here is the question and answer:

Question: "Are you planning on any support for PS4 Pro?"
Answer (Bungie): "No, not for Rise of Iron. We're all done. As far as the futureā€¦ We have nothing to announce today, but we'll certainly be looking at it."
Clearly, Bungie isn't dismissing the PS4 Pro altogether; they just have no intention of having support come November 10th when the new console launches. It's hard to fault them since as of now, there are only eight games currently released that are confirmed for PS4 Pro support.

If anything Bungie's stance serves as the current standard for most games. Pro support is likely to be a very gradual process (not unlike Xbox One's Backwards Compatibility), as it requires most developers to dip back into games, they thought they were through with, many of whom are likely working on other projects.

Destiny: Rise of Iron releases later this month on September 20th and the PS4 Pro will launch on November 10th, 2016.
