Bungie responds to concerns of Destiny’s next microtransaction being special raid buffs

Well, it's not buffs... but it might be something else.

Update 2.0.1 hit Destiny yesterday, bringing the new in-game currency, Silver (as well as a number of additions and tweaks). Silver allows players to purchase new Emotes via microtransactions — real-world money for in-game items.

Yesterday's update did more than simply bring Silver and game tweaks, apparently it brought files for the next microtransaction purchase that players will be able to make. Destiny fans mined the update files and discovered two raid buffs and a subclass level booster, both of which could potentially be purchased through Silver.

The raid buffs found were Valorous Light, which increases the chance of weapon and armour drops and Heuristic Light, which will give players an additional Moldering Shard – both in the King's Fall raid.

Destiny's creative director Luke Smith took to Twitter to deny the concept that Bungie would bring consumables to the microtransaction service that would offer King's Fall buffs.

Unfortunately, Smith did not take to Twitter to address the potential of offering a subclass level booster for Silver. According the Destiny Database, a Subclass Infusion item has made its way into the game and will fully level your equipped subclass. While it hasn't been confirmed that this item will be made available through the game's new currency, it also hasn't been denied – leaving plenty of room for hypothesizing.
