Bungie teases biggest content update that Destiny has seen since The Taken King for 2016

With the December Update (almost) successfully bringing the Sparrow Racing League (there was a hiccup, but it's fixed) event to Destiny, Bungie has turned their eyes towards the future. Looking to provide some clarity on Destiny's future, community manager Eric Osborne addressed the community's worries over Destiny lacking in 'substantial' content updates.

According to Osborne, "2016 is going to be great" in Destiny. Bungie is planning on delivering content to the game in 2016 that will start with an event similar in scale to Festival of the Lost and the second event of 2016 will be the biggest event The Taken King has seen.

"The first of these early 2016 experiences will be on a scale close to Festival of the Lost. The second will be far larger than anything you’ve seen since the release of The Taken King. There’s also another significant update to the world and sandbox planned in this same window."

While bigger updates and events are appreciated, Bungie acknowledges that people don't want to wait nearly half a year between content updates. Luckily, they are looking to bring new stuff to the game at a 'faster' pace than last time.

"Last year, we all waited five months and ten days between content drops after December. This year, the plan is to deliver new experiences at a faster clip."

Bungie did not detail what their plans were, Osborne assured that the Bungie will "be rolling out pre-planned announcements on several fronts to keep you up to speed."
