Yesterday, the discovery of the Black Spindle, a Year Two Exotic version of Black Hammer, in Destiny: The Taken King's Daily Heroic (Lost to Light) nearly broke the internet. The Destiny community was rabbid as Guardians worked feverishly to obtain the highly-coveted weapon with 310 Damage (higher than most exotics that currently drop in The Taken King).
Well, turns out Black Spindle's crazy damage is actually a bug. And it's going to get nerfed fixed. In light of everything that's happened over the past day, Bungie Community Manager David 'DeeJ' Dague took to Destiny's official forums, warning players of the upcoming fix.
Hello, Guardians.
Right this every minute, many of you are acquiring Black Spindle. Surprise!
Wouldn't you know it, there is a bug that is enabling some of these weapons to drop at 310 – that's 20 points higher than intended. In the near future, we'll be releasing an update that will adjust the Black Spindle to match the attack rating for other Year Two Exotics.
It has also come to our attention that you are using this new acquisition to Infuse your other weapons. Good on you. Have fun with that. None of those weapons will be affected by this change – only the Spindle.
Kinda sucks the item is being nerfed — especially with how hard it is to actually get — but it's cool none of your other weapons that you've infused with it are being affected. Glass half full, I suppose.
