Halo creator Bungie will be holding a panel at the Game Developers Conference in March which will detail the creation of the "brave new world" of Destiny, the studio's new IP.
The panel, titled "Brave New World: New Bungie IP", will discuss Bungie's "world building techniques, from concept to production" and provide “key insights into Bungie's battle-tested design process.”
"Two decades of success in the gaming industry is no small feat, but after ten years of Halo, Bungie found themselves faced with a tremendous challenge: to build a whole new world, filled with even more amazing mysteries, places, creatures, and opportunities for player investment," the panel's description reads. Those in attendance will "get a glimpse of the brave new world that has been built, a place where the next ten years of great Bungie adventures will unfold."
No specific date has been assigned for the panel, but GDC will take place between March 25-29, so expect some new Destiny information then. The panel will be led by Bungie writer and design director Joe Staten and art director Christopher Barrett.
It is unclear whether this will be an official unveiling, or just a broad outline of Bungie's work approach, though. Last year, leaked documents revealed the first concept art and details about Destiny. Hopefully we learn some more about Destiny's plot and gameplay at GDC 2013 — or E3 2013 at the very latest.
