Burger King proposes to unite forces with McDonalds to create the McWhopper

The rivalry between McDonald's and Burger King is bitter and deeply seated in the hearts of many, except the customers who tend to bounce between the two and end up at Taco Bell (you know who you are). Burger King is looking to put all of that aside for one day, September 21.

Why is that day so special? It's a day created by a charity called Peace One Day, a non-profit organization that promotes global unity. Burger King has proposed that the two fast food chains form a union on that day and combine their biggest burgers, the Big Mac and the Whopper, to form the McWhopper.

All proceeds from the McWhopper would be donated to the Peace One Day charity, and would act as a way to "lead by example." Honestly, it would first act as a way for people to shove that burger covered in magic sauce in their faces, then it would bring a feeling of peace and unity to the universe.

Here's McDonald's somewhat condescending reply:

Dear Burger King,

Inspiration for a good cause… great idea.

We love the intention but think our two brands could do something bigger to make a difference.

Hopefully, this 'Steve' man said no only to bring us a McWhoppinator Happy Meal or a week long Peace Day celebration.

Either way, Burger King has set the stage for either Sony or Microsoft to extend an olive branch of peace, unity and all things fluffy. By the way, why didn't anyone invite Taco Bell to the party?
