Buy PS3 version of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn on the cheap, get the PS4 version free

As was outlined by Square Enix, those that purchase, or have purchased the PS3 version of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will get a free upgrade to the PS4 version, once it comes out in April. That's fantastic news. What's even better, for those that have yet to buy their copy, is that the game is currently on sale for a mere $10 on PSN through PlayStation Plus, or $15 if you want the special edition.

Sure it will require you to own a PlayStation Plus subscription, but let's be honest, if you have a PS3, that should be a no brainer given the amount of free games Sony gives out on a monthly basis.

Once the PS4 version releases, the version will migrate and the PS3 version will be unplayable, but for those looking to make the switch to next-gen systems, that shouldn't be a problem anyways.

And lastly, for those like me who started out playing on the PC but want to continue their game on the PS4, the account is synced across all systems, meaning you can buy the PS3 version today through the online PSN (since it won't show up on your PS4) and then wait until the PS4 version comes out, migrate the account and login as you would on your PC. All your characters and progress will be there.
