Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered Gets Official Details

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare just got officially revealed after numerous leaks and teases, and while that's exciting most people were anticipating the announcement of a heavily rumored remastered version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Now we have loads of details and information to share on the reimagining of the beloved first-person shooter.

"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered boasts vibrant current generation visuals, with fully improved texture resolution and detail, high-dynamic range lighting, lit and shadowing VFX particles, revamped animation and audio, stunning sound and much more," says Activision.

"Fans will relive the full, iconic campaign as they’re transported around the globe with Capt. Price, Gaz and Soap across all the missions from the original game, including “All Ghillied Up,” “Charlie Don’t Surf,” and “Crew Expendable.” Players will also experience the online multiplayer mode that redefined Call of Duty by introducing killstreaks, XP, Prestige and more, and battle head-to-head in 10 fan-favorite maps from the original multiplayer mode, including classics such as “Crash,” “Backlot” and “Crossfire.”

“The original Modern Warfare raised the bar on video games and forever will be remembered as one of the best," added Raven's studio head Brian Raffel. "It’s an honour to be developing the remaster and we are committed to faithfully remastering this classic for Call of Duty fans."

It sounds as if Raven is going to do the game justice, even if it does include just 10 hand picked maps from the full game. It's unclear if the game will have new multiplayer features or killstreaks or if Raven is just retuning the technical performance of the fan-favorite Call of Duty game but we will surely know sometime soon since E3 is just around the corner. You can expect Infinity Ward and Activision to have a pretty big presence at this years E3.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare releases November 4th and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered comes bundled with all collectors editions starting at $79.99 USD.
