Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare not coming to Wii U

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will not be coming to the Wii U, despite a previous listing for it in Activision's E3 2014 booth plans.

When asked on Twitter if the newest installment in the long-standing franchise would be coming to Nintendo's struggling console, Sledgehammer Games co-founder Michael Condrey confirmed it would not be, adding that it was a decision made by the game's publisher, Activision. "We are focused on Xbox One, PS4, and PC," he said.

Condrey's lack of reference to the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions is due to the fact that Sledgehammer is also not handling the development of these last-gen versions. That honor belongs to High Moon Studios.

Given the performance of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and Ghosts' on Nintendo's console, it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise that Activision isn't willing to put resources into a Wii U version. And surely they aren't the first publisher to skip out on the Wii U with a next-gen game.
