Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 announced, release set for November 13th

The world's worst kept secret, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, has finally been announced.

The official Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 website went live today revealing the basic story details.  Black Ops 2 is set in the near future, during a 21st Century Cold War "where technology and weapons have converged to create a new generation of warfare."

The official worldwide reveal trailer is currently linked on the site, but set to a private YouTube channel.  According to the regular Call of Duty site, you should tune into the NBA playoffs tonight on TNT for the live reveal trailer.

Some leaked images show the game's quadrotor, teased in previously released videos.

The actual website itself has many of the game's assets as "coming soon".  In the meantime, you can begin pre-ordering Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 for Xbox 360, PS3, or PC.  There is no mention of the Wii or Nintendo 3DS, nor Nintendo's upcoming Wii U system.  It could be, however, that Nintendo is asking Activision to hold off on that announcement until the E3 trade show in June 2012.

Now that it's officially confirmed, are you looking forward to Call of Duty: Black Ops 2?
