Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 ‘security and enforcement policy’ outlined

Treyarch has outlined its security and enforcement policy for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 which is set to release tomorrow, November 13, 2012.

The post on the official Call of Duty community page clearly explains several issues including modding or hacking, pirated content, unsupported peripheral or application usage, boosting, glitching, and offensive behavior. It's sad that in 2012, we still need a guide on how to behave on the internet. Basically, anyone who breaks the rules will be "subject to penalty", based on Treyarch's review.

Of course, Treyarch promises that all infractions will undergo a "thorough review process by the Treyarch security team" before enforcement. They also note that "penalty is not subject to further review."

As detailed on the page, there are two types of bans: temporary bans which, depending on the severity of the infraction, can range from 48 hours to two weeks, along with permanent bans which are "lasting and final."

Treyarch defines "A minor offense is one in which no quantifiable damage has been done to another user or the game community at large. An extreme offense is one in which a player has caused detriment to other users or has organized large groups of users to commit additional offenses."
